The Inventory Control Associate position is essential to the inventory, warehouse, and accounting operations for Heartland Produce. The Inventory Control Associate is primarily responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring proper stock levels within Heartland Produce. This role involves conducting cycle counts, investigating and reporting discrepancies, and assisting the organization and management of perishable inventory. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Use RF Scan Gun and computer system (WMS)
- Count and balance inventory daily
- Assist warehouse employees and invoicing office with “missing” product
- Identify inventory that has missing lot tags
- Investigate shortage / overage claims
- Work in both office space and warehouse (50/50)

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist sales staff in delivering excellent results for our customers
- Communicate with customers and vendors daily in a polite and accommodating manner
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers and vendors
- Resolve customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Data entry – sales orders, purchase orders & price lists
- Run reports to track customer and vendor trends
- Calling existing and prospective customers daily
- May be required to perform additional duties as needed
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required – Associates/Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Previous customer service, sales or marketing experience preferred
- Highly detail-oriented
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
- Must have strong foundational skills but we are willing to train an individual to match job expectations

Support and take an active role in leading the day-to-day inbound logistics operations at our Kenosha, WI facility. This role is critical in ensuring product moves efficiently, cost-effectively, and on time - while delivering a best-in-class experience for our customers and partners. This role plays a key part in ensuring inbound product flow supports our sales, inventory, and customer commitments.Hours: 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday; every other weekend / after-hours on call (will be discussed upon interview)
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintain department performance within budget by optimizing logistics operations and reducing costs while enhancing customer experience
• Work closely with transportation partners to negotiate rates
• Coordinate load dispatching with procurement and carriers, provide daily tracking updates, and schedule delivery appointments
• Coordinate and strategize load building to maximize efficiency and minimize cost
• Make real-time decisions on routing, scheduling, and carrier selection to ensure optimal service and cost outcomes
• Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency, accuracy, and scalability within logistics operations
• Work with carriers, vendors and coworkers to mitigate claims
• Interact with carriers regarding billing issues to ensure accurate, timely payment
• Maintain effective and professional relationships with customers, produce vendors, carriers and coworkers
• Collaborate with warehouse receiving department to effectively receive loads and communicate with our transportation partners any discrepancies as noted
• Analyze opportunities and recommend solutions to improve key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Perform effectively under pressure while making sound, real-time decisions to keep operations running smoothly
• Adapt quickly to changing situations in a fast-paced environment
• Develop creative, effective solutions to operational challenges
Qualifications:
• High School diploma or equivalent required – Associate or Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics or transportation preferred
• 5+ years of supply chain/logistics experience; produce or perishable goods experience preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills across multiple channels (phone, email, text)
• Able to prioritize and multi-task in a high-stress environment
• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to investigate and resolve supply chain discrepancies
• Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook
